key findings

After we conducted Zoom meetings with 10 people and more than 40 pet owners filled the survey, we found that more than 30 people wanted a veterinarian consultation service to be available through a platform without the need to go to the clinic, and more than 25 people were suffering for finding a suitable partner for their animal at the time of marriage. And 30% cannot understand their pet.

empathy & persona

Empathy map and persona help us to define the target audience with more clarity, as well as illustrate their needs and actions. They helped us gain perspective on their thoughts and feelings. The data in the empathy map and persona are based on insights from user interviews.

Challenge

1. Understanding User Needs:

  • Cultural Nuances: Navigating the unique cultural and behavioral aspects of Egyptian pet owners.
  • Diverse Pet Ownership: Catering to a wide range of pet owners, from casual pet lovers to dedicated enthusiasts.
  • Limited Online Resources: Identifying and addressing the specific pain points of Egyptian pet owners in a digital context

2. Building a User-Friendly Platform:

  • Intuitive Interface: Designing a user-friendly interface that is accessible to users of all technical abilities.
  • Seamless User Experience: Ensuring a smooth and efficient user journey across various features and services.
  • Secure and Reliable Platform: Implementing robust security measures to protect user data and transactions.

Solutions Implemented

To address these challenges, we adopted a human-centered design approach:

  • User Research: Conducted in-depth interviews and surveys with pet owners to gain insights into their needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Empathy Mapping: Created empathy maps to visualize the user journey and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Developed wireframes and prototypes to test the user interface and gather feedback.
  • Iterative Design: Continuously refined the design based on user feedback and testing results.

The resulting platform offers a range of features and services:

  • Community Forum: A space for pet owners to connect, share experiences, and seek advice.
  • Veterinary Consultation Booking: A convenient way to schedule appointments with trusted veterinarians.
  • Pet Behavior Counseling: Access to expert advice on pet training and behavior.
  • Educational Content: A library of articles and videos on pet care, nutrition, and health.
  • Pet Product Marketplace: A curated selection of pet products and accessories.

Key Learnings

1. The Power of User Research:

  • Empathy is Key: Understanding the specific needs and pain points of our target audience was crucial in designing a truly user-centric platform.

2. The Importance of Community Building:

  • Fostering Connection: Creating a strong online community can enhance user engagement and loyalty.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Encouraging knowledge sharing and peer support can empower pet owners.

3. Leveraging Technology:

  • Seamless User Experience: Utilizing technology to streamline the user experience, from booking appointments to purchasing products.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyzing user behavior to identify trends and optimize the platform.
